Abstract

Survivability is the capability of a system to fulfill its mission in a timely manner in the presence of failures, attacks and accidents. In this paper, quantitative assessment of survivability of cellular networks is conducted by developing an analytical model using Markov chains. A stochastic reward net model is then developed for the automated generation of CTMC and hence survivability metrics in terms of call blocking probabilities and excess delay due to failures are computed. Finally, numerical results are presented for the illustration of the proposed model. © RAMS Consultants.
