| Abstract | In this paper we survey the Petri net literature and focus on Petri nets with generally distributed transition firing times. In the framework of Markov regenerative stochastic Petri nets (MRSPN) we develop and solve two examples to illustrate the modeling power of MRSPNs and provide our experience on solution techniques for transient measures. |
