| Abstract | Soft handoff in the CDMA cellular system is analyzed. To improve performance degradation due to channel resource shortage during soft handoff, we propose a new scheme which converts channels occupied by some pseudo-handoff calls to new handoff calls. Stochastic reward net (SRN) models for our scheme are constructed and solved by SPNP (Stochastic Petri Net Package). The numerical results show that our scheme can decrease both the dropped handoff calls and the blocked new calls. |
